little bit of heaven

Remember that incredible family that I talked about here? Well this weekend Nathan, Echo and I had the honor of care-taking their homestead, the very epicenter of that gorgeous family.

It was a little bit of heaven.

The land is tucked into a little river valley, surrounded by hummingbirds and ancient trees, turned by hand, and cared for lovingly, for decades. The ground has a heartbeat.

Within this little glade lies the home, built by hand, decorated by generations of artists, and worn smooth by caresses. The spirit of the people who live, and have lived here, is thick in the air. At every turn, there is evidence of their values- family, art, and nature. The house is like a grandfather, imbued with such life and love that it now breathes on it’s own.

To say we enjoyed ourselves is an understatement.

Your photo makes it look that way.
Thanks for staying and caring about our place. Remember a picnic with all the mamas, papas, babies, kids is due soon.
