Yay for natural and wooden toys to inspire creativity and imaginative play.
What is he feeling?

What is he feeling, do you suppose? And then, what do you think he needs?
Be curious. If we could be curious with every single person we meet, without judgment or labels…imagine.
“She needs a dolphin!”
This is Echo. She is 20 months old. She started identifying feelings with the Feeleez poster at 12 months. They are never too young to start.
and the winner is…
Joanna Smetanka! Yippee…a feeleez poster for you. We drew names randomly and you are IT. Thanks so much for posting. And thanks to everyone for your marvelous insights. We will be giving away more this week, so stay tuned.
We also wanted to share an amazing review that Feeleez got this weekend on 5 minutes for mom.

Send us your ideas and photos

We are currently writing the Feeleez Curriculum Guide with learning ideas for educators, homeschoolers, counselors and parents and we’d love your ideas and photos. Many of you are witnessing your children create amazing learning opportunities as they play, and we’d love to hear about them.
Thanks for sharing!
wow. 5,000 wow.

a wall of feeleez on the sidewalk
Well, thanks to so many amazing friends of Feeleez, we did it! 5,000 empathy games from the back of an enormous truck, down the alley, through the hallway, up the stairs, and to the back of the loft above Blackbird Kid Shop.

Papa Nathan, master mover extraordinaire

Unloading the truck on 4th Street

Gabrielle and Larkin snuggling in the truck

Romy working up a sweat

Strong mama Jen
Feeleez games are selling fast, so we re-ordered 5,000. When they arrived today in Missoula, we made the call and so many mamas and papas came to help unload, with children in tow. Between unloading and hauling there was lots of play at Blackbird, with regular check-ins between babes and mamas. The games are for sale on-line and in over 20 retail locations around the USA and Canada.

Everyone who helped took home a free game! Thanks friends. We could NOT have done this without you.
feelings and needs

Sweet little Echo today used the Feeleez in a whole new way! She looked at one of the sad Feeleez and said that she needed a hug, then pointed to the hugging Feeleez and put the two together.
To take the learning further than simply identifying feelings with your child, you can ask them what is the need. Needs are universal: safety, nutrition, play, movement, connection, meaning, contribution….
EVERY BEHAVIOUR IS AN ATTEMPT TO MEET A NEED.
the feeling ladder

Think of a ladder of feelings with low ones on the bottom and high ones on the top…bliss, joy, delight, gratitude. Keep this feeling ladder in your mind. You can create a real one by cutting up the Feeleez poster and putting them on the wall, or make the ladder with the game cards.
Whenever you are feeling something you don’t particularly enjoy, the low feelings, choose a thought that will move you one step HIGHER. Then, choose the next higher thought, and so on.
You will not only improve your mood, but you will shift your vibration and the Universe will respond by matching that vibration and life will keep getting more pleasing.
